Community guidelines

State of the Realm exists to give readers the strongest arguments on the questions facing Britain. That only works if people can disagree sharply without it turning ugly.

Do

• Argue with the idea, not the person.
• Back up factual claims with sources where you can.
• Engage with the strongest version of views you oppose.

Don't

• Post anything unlawful, including threats, harassment, or material that stirs up hatred on grounds of race, religion or sexual orientation.
• Post defamatory claims about real people.
• Share other people's personal information.
• Spam, advertise, or pretend to be someone else.

Moderation

Editors may remove posts or suspend accounts that break these guidelines. To report something, email privacy@stateoftherealm.org with a link to the post. We act on reports promptly, in line with our duties under the Online Safety Act 2023.
